C.S.I. Case#4 & Get Creative

Thought I'd try to team up the sketch from Get Creative with the palette from C.S.I. Here's a look at both.

Here's my take. "The Big Splash Theory".
For my evidence, I used a frame which holds the title, stripes and there's some tulle on the flower. I misted my striped paper, and highlighted the stripes with glossy accents. This gave the paper the look and feel of corrugated paper. My journalling is printed on sticky canvas. I used rhinestones and also treated the horizontal blue paper wit Distress Crackle.
Here are some close-ups.

Hope you like what I made.

OUAS and C.S.I.

AHi scrappers,
First up, here's what I won from OUAS!
A pack from Imaginarium! It's fantastic! I've never had any, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to use these. I'm so excited! Thank you OUAS!
For the OUAS challenge this time, I chose to focus on the new year. Last year was not the best for me, and I didn't want to create a l/o reminding me of it. I'd rather look forward than back. So that's what I did. My journalling is just a bunch of words that are important to me, and I can reflect on each of them individually, and every single time this reflection is uplifting to me. It's a sort of meditation thing.
Here's the l/o.
The palette comes from C.S.I., and was not the easiest for me! Here's a look at their case file. (i love these case files!)
If you haven't already, please head on over! This site is ADDICTIVE!
Here are some close-ups.

I plan to hang this up in my space where I can look at it everyday, to remind myself to stay positive. It's 'Scrapbook Therapy'!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

MME challenge #31

The deadline is Midnight Jan 22. It's 5.30pm IST, and I just found out. I could have just skipped this challenge altogether, but I LOVE MME, and can't imagine passing up an opportunity to use their product. The l/o had to be about something 'new'. I decided to use the Lost and Found Christmas collection, which I teamed up with some Lost & Found Union Square brads.
Here's my l/o.
Obviously, I'm focusing on the Happy NEW Year!
Here are some details.

The Santa Claus trinket and the big red button is Bo Bunny, the ruler is 7Gypsies, and the flowers and trim are from my stash. Everything else is MME. Oh, and please do notice how I fussy cut around the red flourish so my trim could peek through! I couldn't bear for any of that gorgeous glitter to be hidden! The paper is so beautiful, I thought I didn't need to do much else.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

C.S.I. Case#2

Hi people! I've solved the second case! Here's a copy of the file.
I was stumped. The palette had gotten to me. You see, lavender was not a colour I used normally. Plus, it was to be a boy page. So, this is what I came up with.

Here you can see my 'hidden' journalling peeping out from behind my photo. This is what it says.
"Dream, my little one... Dream of impossible beautiful beings and imaginary far-away places, and creatures little and large far beyond your ken and my reasoning. And know I'll always be by your side  waiting and willing to take part in these wonderful flights of fancy for as long as you need me to... And after you stop wanting me to, I'll still be there...."
Here are some close-ups.
This is my sheer element. It's a flourish I cut from packaging using my Tim Holtz die painted with Distress Rock Candy. My architectural element is a Dusty Attic fence. The bee is fussy cut and covered with Glossy Accents. For my title, I used a paper clip that says Dream.
For my stone element, I used, well, stone! My son, and I, love stones.
 A flower and button cluster...

And finally, my lavender component. Fussy cut dragonflies! The dangly bit I made with an amethyst I had and a charm hung from a Tim Holtz button.
I really enjoyed putting this page together. I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by!

Prima love

Hi bloggers! So Prima has the latest PPP on! The palette is simply gorgeous. Shades of grey, deep dark  chocolate, and black... Positively sinful! Take a look!
Don't you just love? I do too!

C.S.I. Case #1

I came across this really interesting site while stalking some of the blogs of the incredibly talented women who enter their amazing projects in OUAS challenges. It didn't sink in that the site was launching in the beginning of Jan, and so when I went through Elia's blog after she posted on OUAS, there was barely 3 days to create and post before the due date ran out.
So my page is a little rushed.
It's about my obsession with owning an iphone. The journalling is on the two little tags at the top of the l/o. You can see here.
Here are some close-ups of the embellies.

I find this site SUPER INTERESTING!!! Thanks for stopping by...

the one about New Year's Day

The day was pretty normal considering last nights shenanigans. Last night made me feel uncomfortable and insecure in my own home, but I live in India, and in India life goes on. Not that it doesn't in other parts of the world, but in India we are more, I think, anaesthetized  to the ugliness of humanity.
The day got immeasurably better when I found out that I was 'featured' at OUAS. The downer was that I just couldn't figure out how to get my badge up... I'd love some advice....
Anyway, this New Year's Eve was memorable to me even if for all the wrong reasons. I managed to look beyond the 'why' and find a positive for me in there. My husband. So I dedicated this project to him.
I just want to say that scrapbooking has become more than just a hobby for me. And OUAS is more than just another site to me. With your emphasis on the journalling, you kinda force us into some fierce introspection, and thus elevate what would otherwise be just another beautiful craft, to something much more meaningful... almost a legacy... So thank you.
Here's my layout.
I used lots of Tim Holtz. And some gesso, and gauze, and wire. Here's a close up.
I had a lot to say, so I hid my journalling behind my photo.

I really like how it turned out. I hope you do too.
Thanks for stopping by, and if you're curious about what happened last thing last year, it's on my last post!
